The music from classic Chinese films of the 1980s and ‘90s are newly arranged and orchestrated. Performed by the City of Prague Philharmonic with some ethnic instruments added, mixed with a western influence. The compilation takes in films from mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. Including music from Once upon a Time in China, Ang Lee’s Eat Drink Man Woman and the art house efforts of critically acclaimed director Hsiao-hsien Hou (A City of Sadness, The Puppet Master) and the international blockbuster Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
