Against the tide of hip-hop, electronic dance music, and indie-rock, which dominated the airwaves of the late ‘90s, Dave’s True Story, a Big Apple duo comprised of singer Vicky Flint and guitarist and songwriter David Cantor, flew the flag for a cool alternative: jazz-inflected hipster pop.
