On July 21 and 22, 1983, legendary icon Diana Ross delivered one of the most famous concert events in music history on the Great Lawn of New York City’s Central Park. Staged to raise funds for a children's playground in the park, the historic event drew an estimated 800,000 fans. When a massive, torrential storm cut the first performance short after 45 minutes, Ross fearlessly braved the elements to ensure her fans were safe before returning the next day to complete the full, triumphant show.

 

Directed by Steve Binder, this iconic performance captures Ross at the absolute height of her powers, powering through definitive hits including "I'm Coming Out," "Upside Down," "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," "Endless Love," and a show-stopping Supremes medley.

 

This special DVD release features the full, completed July 22 makeup concert alongside the rare, rain-shortened July 21 performance as a bonus feature, accompanied by audio commentary from director Steve Binder. Available on DVD.
