On November 22, 1981, in the middle of their massive American tour, The Rolling Stones visited Chicago's famous Checkerboard Lounge to see their hero, blues titan Muddy Waters. What began as an off-night outing quickly turned into music history when Waters called Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood, and Ian Stewart onto the intimate stage for an unscripted, raw jam session. Joined by blues legends Buddy Guy, Junior Wells, and Lefty Dizz, this spontaneous summit captured two generations of giants sharing the ultimate blues celebration.

 

Restored and remixed by Bob Clearmountain from the original multi-track tapes, this release features electrifying, loose-limbed performances of classics including "Baby Please Don't Go," "Hoochie Coochie Man," "Mannish Boy," and "Champagne and Reefer." Available on DVD+CD.
